About

Long before Ambient Igloo existed, I was a ‘closet creative' working in the corporate world while spending every spare moment obsessing over interiors and property.

I have always had equal love for two things that do not often live in the same person: beautiful spaces and meticulous organisation.

Some people blame it on my Virgo tendencies.
I blame it on the fact that I genuinely enjoy spreadsheets almost as much as sourcing the perfect stone, lighting, or joinery detail.

That combination—creative instinct and operational precision—has become the foundation of how I work today.

WHERE IT STARTED

Ambient Igloo first began in the Netherlands, where I was living at the time and where I took on my first property transformation.

What began as a personal leap into renovation quickly confirmed something I had suspected for years: this was not simply an interest, it was the kind of work I could happily eat, sleep, and breathe.

I was hooked not just by the design side, but by the complexity of making every element come together.

The planning.
The contractor coordination.
The sequencing.
The budget decisions.
The endless stream of site issues that need solving in real time.

I discovered that where many people feel overwhelmed by renovation problems, I feel energised by them.

To me, they are not crises.

They are puzzles.

And I love puzzles.

Ambient Igloo has since grown into a UK-based boutique practice serving clients who want that same level of obsessive care, clear oversight, and design confidence brought to their own homes.

HOW I WORK

I approach every project with two priorities running in parallel.

The first is to create a home that feels elevated, deeply considered, and far beyond the obvious—one that reflects how my clients want to live, entertain, and feel in their space.

The second is to make sure the journey to get there is managed properly.

That means I am as comfortable discussing colour palettes and furniture layouts as I am interrogating contractor quotes, chasing suppliers, refining technical drawings, managing timelines, and spotting issues before they become expensive mistakes.

I work as both creative lead and client representative.

The person protecting the vision.

And the person protecting the process.

My clients come to me because they want someone who can think boldly, organise relentlessly, and stay calm when renovation inevitably throws up complications.

I do not get flustered by moving targets or site surprises.

I get focused.
